Livestream Yoga Teacher Training

A virtual yoga teacher training program, so you can learn and train from the comfort of your home and self-paced. Adopting the policy that yoga starts from the inner peace, the self-doubt of approved beliefs, and the constant need for self-exploration, you will explore deeper and find a practice that suits your mind and body. The teaching is Vinyasa-based with a focus also on Hatha and Restorative yoga.

This teacher training is held online. Yoga and More School is based in Greece and the livestream sessions will follow the timezone in Greece EET or EESZ GREECE (GMT/UTC + 2h or GMT/UTC + 3h). You can participate in the live sessions on Zoom from the comfort of your home by just using your phone, tablet, or computer.

How the training works

There will be 200 total hours:

1. Livestream hours

The training is an immersive style with 145 required contact hours as required from Yoga Alliance. Specifically, there are sessions offered daily for 18 days contact hours with 2 days off.

2. 45 self-learning hours

These are hours for self-study, which is supported via an Online Training Library with 10 modules. Past students said that they use the training material even after completion, as it has ignited their passion for knowledge and self-evolution.

Requirements to participate

  • Wi-Fi connection
  • Yoga props (yoga mat, strap or scarf, two or more blocks or big stable books, pillow or bolster, blanket, wall, and chair for assistance to the exercises)
  • Wireless microphone or Bluetooth for the phone to be clearly heard online and at your recorded exercises that you submit. However, some phones provide clear audio, so please check with a simple video recording of how your voice is heard

Certifications

Students who attend the live training and complete all finishing requirements are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

Timing of sessions

The schedule is from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with breaks in between. All time zones are welcome to participate. Sessions are held via Zoom.

Day 1 (4 training hours)

Day 2-19 (16 days x 7 training hours, 2 days off = 112 training hours)

Course information

  • Traditional and functional based training: train in innumerous asana variations and modifications, knowing not just to cue them, but why you use them from the anatomical, functional and energetic point of view. Primarily, is taught non-lineage/functional modern style Vinyasa, and secondarily Hatha and Restorative. The focus is on original alignment, as well as on variations, modifications, drills, conditioning, props, hands-on assists, and more. Beginners are welcomed, as also more advanced students.
  • Online Training Library access with content that is being constantly updated. The training material supports trainees in lifelong, deep learning.
  • Blend of synchronous and asynchronous teaching, which means partly archived, partly livestream or self-paced learning and real-time learning as well

Expected outcomes

By the end of the training program, participants are expected to be able to

  • Teach confidently and safety at the basic level to mixed level Vinyasa classes
  • Design Vinyasa, Hatha, and Restorative yoga classes and courses based on knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and philosophy of yoga and feel able to develop their knowledge and practice in the future

Content

  • Theory and practice via livestream training and an online library with digital material, videos, and audio.

The content is divided into 10 modules that communicate with the practice. Each of the 10 modules includes:

1. Techniques

  • a. Asana - more than 100 asana covered with the different variations that appear in the modern practice. Finally, there is a really extensive number of asana that will be covered. Kinetic exercises from modern functional theory with experiential analysis
  • b. Pranayama - traditional breathing techniques and modern breathwork exercises
  • c. Mudra - pranic hand gestures and sealing poses, benefits, and circumstances to use them
  • d. Mantra - signing for meditation practice
  • e. Bandha - internal locks, main, and secondary

2. Meditation

Benefits, finding the personal voice for meditation guidance, and types of meditation (theming guided meditation, visualization, yoga Nidra, positive affirmations, non-guided meditation, etc.)

3. Anatomy and physiology

  • Muscular system, skeletal system, planes of motion, types of movements, joints actions, etc.
  • Yoga applied anatomy: anatomy knowledge that serves the yoga practice, eg. muscles and joints that work in each asana

4. Teaching methodology

Throughout the training, a certain selected bibliography is used and proposed for lifelong learning as well. Also, free EBooks are given to read and complete the exercises. This curriculum mirrors the in-person training and follows the Yoga Alliance USA guidelines in 200 hours trainings.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What will be the 2 days off?

  • This is arranged at the time of the training according to students needs.

Am I graduating at the 20th day?

  • Yes, at the 20th day all are finished. However, you are required to send the Post-training requirements to be eligible tor register with Yoga Alliance.

As an online student, do I have chances to teach a class for the group?

  • No, the online students, have to record their classes and sent them for assessment.

Are there exercises throughout the training?

  • Yes, as an online student you are following the in-person group requirements, like: writing meditation scrips, recording flows, journaling, etc.

Can I enroll to the Online Livestream Training without attending the Livestream sessions?

  • No, for this case you should enroll to the Online Self-Paced mode that has only 15 2-hour long sessions via zoom. The Livestream training has the obligation to attend the livestream sessions. You are allowed to miss few hours which are sent to you for later watch, but not many as this interupts the learning process.

Can I change form of training?

Absolutely! If you move from one online to the other online form (from the livestream to the self-paced and vice versa), there is nothing to pay as extra, as both trainings have the same cost.

If you move from online to in-person, you pay only the difference to the in-person (food-accommodation, in-person training tuition minus the amount you paid for the online). Keep in mind this option might has students number limit.

Will I learn anatomy?

  • Yes, the anatomy is provided with self-learning via books, plus the teacher will explain detailed the Kinesiology, the muscles and skeletal in the Online Sessions and in pre-recorded sessions.

How many hours are provided for Restorative Yoga?

  • Some days we practice Restorative Yoga. You will have 2 downloadble EBooks with restorative poses.

Will I learn Yoga Philosophy?

  • Yes, the philosophy is part of the whole training. You will read via the manual and the downloadable ebooks the philosophy. Most importantly, you will be offered access to attend yoga philosophy by PHD scholars.

Will I uplevel my practice?

  • The training has as aim to train you how to offer mixed level yoga classes. In most part, you learn to adapt and variate the poses for adapting various needs. Also, you will be given chances to challenge yourself in your asana & techniques practice that reflect more intermediate to advanced level (but also beginners with appropriate adaptations or alterations). Many students believe a teacher training is a chance to learn high skills, but the truth is you must also learn to teach all levels classes and teach the exercises correctly and inspirational with anatomy and philosophy background.
